18 dances was a bit tight, timing-wise.
Some teaching tips I developed:
- Miss de Jersey's Memorial: In addition to moving people to their target position going into the circle, I also reminded ones that as they loop around finishing the half hey, they should hold out their right hands and assist their original neighbor into the circle.
- The Treasure: In the A section, at the beginning, I had ones and threes take right hands early, to limit the number of wrong places the twos could wander. In the progression of the B part, the couple casting needs to face up or down away from the set, and then the person on the right does the casting, with the person on the left following. And with the final turn, the middle couple is facing the correct direction to turn the person on the side.
- Land of Mist and Wonder: For the stars/arm turn, I have the ends think about getting to the other end, one couple at a time.
- Red and All Red: It can be done positionally, but when the ones go around the outside, you need to talk about leading and trailing dancers. And that the twos and threes need to remember to let go in the circle of three/circle of six transition.
- Bare Necessities: I changed the dance slightly, with the final move being current partner right shoulder round, then future partner half left shoulder round.
