A very fun ball with an excellent band. It was held in a student center where students could get in free, so there were a number of people who had never danced ECD before, hence the slow ramp-up of the program. There were two alternates (Orleans Baffled and La Gavre) that got dropped from the evening for reasons of time. The next day featured an advanced session at a local caller's house, with about 16 dancers.

Ben Werner was nice enough to video most of the ball.

I developed a new method for dealing with the final cast in "Autumn in Amherst." After the up a double and back, I have them sidestep to their left ("for teaching purposes only") till they're facing their original neighbors. After they've noted where they are, I then have them sidestep back, and instead cast over their right shoulder into that place.
