Lots of beginners -- the first dance was over half beginners, as someone decided to bring their birthday party to the dance. A high percentage of new dancers remained throughout the first half, along with some irregulars from the past few months who tended to choke up and freeze before every move. This made "A Gypsy for Jessica" (an "Al's Safeway Produce" variant) have serious troubles in slot four.
No hey in the first half, and no right and left through, with my original program chucked out the window. Still, people stuck around for part of the second half. The big surprise hit was "Mermaid's Basket" -- with short lines people were really getting into the basket swing. "O'Brien's Star" also went over well, but that was no surprise.
