Huckleberry Friend

by Tom Calwell and Myra Hirschberg

There's lots of dances that play off the exit of star promenade and butterfly whirl, but what about working with the entry?

In this case, you prep star-promenade position coming out of the neighbor swing. But first there's promenading around the set, wheeling around, and then coming back on the precise vector to finally hook into the star promenade.

The A1 is a little high with piece-count, and a little unusual, but since the rest of the dance flows together automatically, having a different A1 isn't bad. As long as everyone knows which way to progress, it's all good.
